Who is Behind Picklestix TCG?

Picklestix TCG was founded by couple Matthew & Nicola in March 2022. 

Starting out on TikTok shop Picklestix soon became a well known name within the pokemon and trading card world on the platform. However this was worlds away from normal everyday work. Nicola by background was fully fledged registered district nurse while Matthew worked for a components company which provided for the likes of aerospace and airbus.

Picklestix started out as a hobby for both Matt & Nic with them both collecting Brilliant Stars, but soon found that it was becoming more demanding as time went on, so much so that Matthew gave up his full time job to commit to Picklestix full time. With some of the streams going into the early morning it was taking its toll on the couple and making them more exhausted (as if raising 3 children wasn't enough).  So Matthews choice to leave his current role was made.

In May 2022 Picklestix became the number one TikTok shop in a GOLD category. An amazing achievement within such a short time. 

Fast forward 12 months and US Giants WHATNOT started trading in the UK and approached us to join them in partnership to stream on there Platform. 

By this time TikTok was becoming more saturated in people and small companies doing the same as us. So now was the time to jump ship and give this new challenge a try.

WHATNOT UK continued to grow and so did Picklestix - Both Matt and Nic would stream and love interacting and meeting new people that share the same hobby. 'Who doesn't love shiny cardboard right?'

Matt and Nicola soon became overwhelmed with working from home, with Pokémon cards EVERYWHERE - it was decided that a retail space was needed. So that's what they did... In October 2023 Picklestix official bricks and Mortar Store was born...
